Putting Conservation Science into Practice,  hosted by Centre for Applied Sciences in Ontario Protected Areas (CASIOPA)

When:   Wednesday April 17 and Thursday April 18

Registration Deadline: Monday April 8th

Objectives: Provide an overview of the state science-based planning and management in Ontario’s protected areas agencies, and to discuss current barriers to science-management integration, research and monitoring priorities, and research and monitoring needs. A second objective will be to provide an external perspective on the current status of science-management integration in relation to priority conservation issues in Ontario, and to identify opportunities for capacity building and enhancing science-management partnerships.

Sustainable Trail Design Workshop, hosted by the Ministry of Natural Resources

When:   Tuesday March 19th and Wednesday March 20th

Objectives: Participants will learn the fundamentals of sustainable trail design and trail risk management and be able to apply these concepts to practical applications as it pertains to land management. Various methods of instruction by Daniel Scott, IMBA Canada Trail Specialist, will provide opportunity for participants to develop an understanding of the design, construction and experiential aspects of successful trail development.
